(Consistent) Preterism holds that all that was prophesied in the Bible has been fulfilled. The issue is: What was prophesied?
The Old Testament types for Christ, salvation and judgement (for example Noah, Lot & Sodom, Moses) demonstrate that God’s plan from the beginning was to save His people and judge the wicked at the same time. Salvation was never, in the Old Testament models, followed by judgement many years later. Salvation and judgement were always concurrent.
If Jesus saved us, then He has judged. If He has not judged, then we are not yet saved.
The purpose of this site is to show that:
If these basic premises are true, then Jesus’ earthly mission has been completed, and all other Scripture can be interpreted in that light.
The term "preterism" simply describes a system of interpreting the Bible in which prophesies, often believed to apply to our future, have already been fulfilled. There is no one 'preterist' group, and there is much variety among preterists.
This is why I do not identify with any particular group. I agree or disagree with many preterists just like I agree or disagree with many futurists. Please do not form an opinion of my views based on the views of others who are called "preterists."
In the same way, don't assume that all preterists subscribe to my beliefs. I represent no one except myself and, in most areas, my own family.
